Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Northern Beaches Home Organisation is a decluttering and home organisation business founded by Tanya, serving Sydney's Northern Beaches and North Shore. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and in the course of providing our services. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Last updated: 10 September 2026
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. Through the enquiry form on this website that is:
- Your name and email address (required, so we can reply)
- Your phone number and suburb (optional)
- The package or service you are interested in (optional)
- Whatever you tell us about the spaces you would like help with
If you phone us instead, we collect the same kinds of details in conversation. During a project we may also record practical notes about your home and the systems we set up for you.
Sensitive information and NDIS enquiries
If you enquire about NDIS-funded support, or mention a health condition, disability or personal circumstance when describing your situation, that is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We collect it only because you have chosen to tell us, and only to work out whether we can help you and how. We use it to prepare your quote, to plan sessions at a pace that suits you, and — where you ask us to — to liaise with your support coordinator, plan manager, occupational therapist or family member. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not disclose it to anyone you have not asked us to involve.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a free discovery call
- To prepare a quote and, if you go ahead, to deliver and invoice the work
- To keep in touch about a project that is under way
We do not send marketing emails, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Photographs of your home
The before-and-after photographs in our gallery are published only with the homeowner's express permission, given separately from this policy. Agreeing to a session does not mean agreeing to publication. We do not publish addresses or identifying details alongside a photo, and you can ask us to remove an image at any time.
Who else can see your information
Enquiries sent through this website are delivered to us by email and are not stored in a database on this site. A small number of service providers necessarily handle data in the process:
- Our web host processes and delivers the enquiry email, and keeps standard server logs.
- Google Analytics tells us how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It sets cookies and records a shortened version of your IP address — we have IP anonymisation switched on. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not link analytics data to enquiries.
- Google Fonts and a content delivery network serve the fonts and stylesheet this page is built with. Loading them makes your browser's IP address visible to those providers, as it would on most websites.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia. Beyond that, we disclose your information only where you have asked us to (for example to your plan manager), or where we are required to by law.
Cookies
This site sets analytics cookies through Google Analytics. It does not run advertising or retargeting cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on — the site works normally either way.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Records relating to completed work are kept for five years, which is the standard ATO record-keeping period for business records. You can ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to hold.
Keeping it secure
This website is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the enquiry form is encrypted in transit. Enquiries and project notes are held in password-protected accounts on devices only Tanya uses. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch through the contact form or call 0425 253 921 and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. There is no charge for asking.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first — contact us using the details above and we will work with you to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the date shown above.
