Garage & Storage Organisation
Zoned storage for tools, sporting gear and seasonal items, and floor space for the car when you want it.
Northern Beaches Home Organisation declutters and organises garages, carports, storerooms and apartment storage cages across Sydney's Northern Beaches and North Shore. We sort everything with you, arrange for what's leaving to go to the right place, and set up zones so tools, sports and beach gear, and long-term storage each have a spot off the floor. Most garages take at least one full session.
Garages here fill up in a particular way. There are surfboards and wetsuits, camping and fishing gear, kids' bikes they've outgrown, and boxes that were meant to be sorted after the last move. We deal with all of it, including the paint tins and chemicals that shouldn't go in the bin.
What we focus on
- Zones for beach and sport, tools, garden, and archive boxes
- Walls and ceiling used before the floor
- Paint, chemicals and e-waste sent to the right drop-off
- A clear walkway, and parking if the space allows
A single garage often fits our Starter session. Double garages or garage-plus-storeroom projects may suit a Home reset or Whole-home package. Every project is quoted after a free discovery call.

- Clear a staging area. Usually the driveway. Everything comes out in sections, so we're never working around piles.
- Sort into categories. Car, tools and hardware, garden, sport and beach, camping, holiday decorations, keepsakes, and everything else.
- Decide, then route. You choose what stays. What's leaving splits into donate, sell, recycle, council clean-up and hazardous drop-off, so nothing ends up back in the corner.
- Plan by how often you use it. Everyday things like bikes, the recycling and the dog lead go nearest the door. Tools and garden gear sit at mid-height, and long-term storage goes up high.
- Put back and label. Like goes with like, in labelled, see-through tubs where it helps. You get a list of anything worth buying to finish the job.
Where garage clutter goes
Getting rid of garage items properly is half the work, and it's where most DIY clear-outs stall. What we check for you:
- Paint: free at Kimbriki, Ingleside, up to 100 litres in containers of 20 litres or less. Never in the red bin or on the kerb.
- Chemicals, pool products, fuel and gas bottles: the NSW EPA's free Household Chemical CleanOut events.
- Batteries: B-cycle bins at Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Bunnings and Officeworks, with the terminals taped. Kimbriki takes them free too.
- Old computers and TVs: free at Kimbriki.
- Bulky items: council clean-up. On the Northern Beaches, mainland households can pre-book two collections within 12 months.
For the full local list, see our Northern Beaches donation and recycling guide.
Before your session
Move the car out, and if you can, check whether your council clean-up is booked or can be. Don't buy storage yet. We'll tell you what you need once we can see what's staying.
